My first post on what I love--Being Creative

Almost 2 years ago, I started blogging.  But my blogging was just a personal account of my first year in NY.  It was a great idea, but I found that I was not writing as much as I wanted to which seemed to be caused by the fact that I was not writing about anything that I loved.  I needed something to inspire me to write more often for whomever reads my blog (even if it is just me).  So today I decided that I wanted to start blogging again, but in a much more inspired way.

BUT WHAT INSPIRES ME?

That was the question that my dad asked me the other night as we talked about my life in NY.  I listed off the things I love: theater, music, fashion, make-up, hair, crafting, crocheting, reading, writing, and so much more.  What I realized is that everything that I love are ways for me to be creative and express myself.  Creativity inspires me to be productive and it makes me happy.  

This blog will focus on these things in my life--things that inspire me to create, things that I create, and things that I see in this world that I find fun, creative, and deserve to be shared.

Since I felt I had to explain the change in my blog, I will keep today's post short.

I think that there is nothing sexier than a woman wearing nude fishnets.  I can't explain it, but that is the way I feel.  The problem for me is that I am a toasted caramel skin complexion, and I can never find nude fishnets made for me.  They are either too light (I call it white girl nude) or too dark (which my mother loves because it means she can have the ones I buy and get home and realize they are really too dark for me.)

So when I went to Lane Bryant the Saturday after Thanksgiving (I don't have the patience to deal with Black Friday crowds and ignorance) and found these nude fishnet tights I had to have them even if they were the wrong color (at 50% off everything I two pairs of nude and two pairs of black).

I immediately walked down to Joann Fabric and Craft and bought some fabric dye.  Choosing the color of dye was hard because I was not going from white to another color, but after deliberating for exactly 15 minutes (my sister/shopping partner advised me of the exact time I spent going back and forth) I decided on Rit in Tan.

I followed the instructions found on the Rit website and got exactly what I wanted.
